Week 3 Reflections & Week 4 Preview (DAY 21)
The video for today is a brief recap of the learnings from Week 3 of the Alcohol-Free Challenge and questions to reflect on. Below are the lessons that we covered in Week 3. Watch the video for a quick flip through the slides to reinforce the learning and to hear a preview for the Week 4 Lessons!
Johann Hari’s TED Talk on the “Need for Human Connection” as it relates to addiction. Don’t forget you can always add a month (or more) of community support from The Sober Club for added motivation, connection, and inspiration along this alcohol-free journey
Neural Pathways: “Cells that Wire Together, Fire Together” and the Liminal Process.
Alcohol’s impact on our Emotions and Happiness, with excerpts from William Porter’s Alcohol Explained and Annie Grace’s The Alcohol Experiment.
Educational Neuroscientist, Staci Danford’s “Thankful Thursday” and ways to incorporate a gratitude practice into your life
“Three Simple Strategies to Boost Your Mood”: Humor, Music and Movement, also from Staci Danford that link back to the brain chemistry lessons of Week 2. By incorporating these three strategies, we can give our brains natural boosts of serotonin, endorphins and dopamine.
Intro to CliftonStrengths!
During Week 4, we’ll transition to more learning from Gallup, including the 5 Elements of Wellbeing (Social, Physical, Financial, Community and Career) that Gallup has found that lead to people living their best, thriving lives.
If you missed a lesson, you can always go back to the home page of the Alcohol Free Challenge at: www.mageecoaching.com/afreechallengejan2024 and see all of the lessons in the order they were released for each day of the Challenge.
