5 Elements of Wellbeing: Physical (DAY 23)
Today’s lesson is an introduction to Gallup’s research on Wellbeing, based on the book, Wellbeing at Work: How to Build Resilient and Thriving Teams. By studying the human behavior and wellbeing of more than 98% of the world’s population, Gallup uncovered the five common elements that people need to THRIVE IN THEIR LIVES:
Physical: You have energy to get things done
Social: You have meaningful relationships in your life
Community: You like where you live
Financial: You manage your money well
Career: You like what you do every day
Watch the video for a description and discussion of the first element in today’s lesson: Physical Wellbeing, in the context of our relationship with alcohol. Scroll down for the journal questions from the video.
JOURNAL PROMPTS:
PHYSICAL WELLBEING:
How is alcohol impacting your physical wellbeing?
Think about the days when you have the most physical and mental energy. What do they have in common?
What can you do now to boost my energy today? What about tomorrow?
What new habits could you start building to support your physical wellbeing goals?
How can you incorporate physical activity into your workday?
Where do you need help making progress on my physical wellbeing efforts? (i.e., hire a trainer, join a gym, or join a local running group)
Are you starting to notice any differences in your physical appearance or energy levels as a result of going alcohol-free? Be sure to jot these down! Small improvements and progress will add up and turn into BIG CHANGE over time!
Grab your journal and a nice cup of tea to relax. Give some thought to the questions above. Feel free to reach out in the comments below or by email if you need some support on this exercise.
